New Post: Swap x-axies and y-axies

I'm using Mulit-Touch Vista with touch device called RadarTouch and our monitor is turned on its side in portrait mode. Using Multi-Touch Vista we find the the x-axies and y-axies have been swapped. I think this is caused by some miscommunication with the OS.

I was hopping that there is a configuration in Mulit-Touch Vista that would allow us to swap the x-axies and y-axies. Does anyone know of a solution?

We are in the initial stage of windows multi touch application development . For testing windows multi touch application in a non multi touch screen, I have downloaded and extracted the MultiTouchVista_-_second_release_-_refresh_2.zip. I am getting an error while running the Multitouch.Driver.Console.exe application. The error is " Universal Software HID driver was not found. Please ensure that is it installed"

Could you please provide a solution for this issue or what will be the next step to proceed

Hello, I tried to compile targeting .NET Framework 4.0, because in 3.5 I was getting an error related to System.Xaml. The compilation is successful but when I execute Multitouch.Service.Console.exe I get:

"Cannot load file or assembly TUIO ... or one of its dependencies. Operation is not supported ..."

Everything was compiled in the right order. Someone knows how to solve this problem?

If I run the Tuio Java simulator with the MTV bridge active in Tuio mode (not multimice) then what am I supposed to see? Is something supposed to appear on the screen?

Can you explain in detail how you used the TUIO simulator to send touches to MTV? I can see the verbose log output

in the console window but nothing happens on screen.

Also, you mention that you succeeded in getting multi touch working. How did you do that?

Hi,

i try to install Windows 8 on our MS Surface 1.0.

I follow the instructions in this Thread http://multitouchvista.codeplex.com/discussions/216086 but it dosnt work. There are no Input from the Touchscreen. Did this Workaround not work on Win 8? Are there other options i have to configure?

UniSoftHID driver is for Windows 7 and above.

I did find a little fix, someone on these forums said the dots where knocked off by window's mouse acceleration. So I did a looksie and found that you can shut it off by doing these steps:

Open Windows Mouse Settings under Pointer Options untick "Enhance pointer Precision".

Then in the startscreen type "regedit".

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Control Panel/Mouse then backup the registry entrys via File > Export...

then set the following:

MouseSpeed = 0

Mousethreshold1 = 0

Mousethreshold2 = 0

SmoothMouseXCurve =

00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

SmoothMouseYCurve =

00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

Now go back to Mouse and select pointer speed to the fourth dash from the right (it's what i have it set at but it might be different for you.)

The mouse moment is concretely different, i tend to overshoot things now. I do notice a vast improvements in FPS game that i play.

I hope this works for you as it did for me, and hopefully it can be fixed soon.

I am experiencing the same problem. I would hope a solution is found because testing my Windows 8 apps was the sole reason I downloaded MTV.

Hi,

I 've been trying to make the multitouch vista driver to work with two mice but with no luck..

At first my problem was the 64bit win 7 driver signing issue but after some configurations and help from others' topics I solved it...

My problem now is that running the "Multitouch.Service.Console", the "Multitouch.Driver.Console" and the "Multitouch.Configuration.WPF" I can only see one red dot and both my mice move that dot... when I disable the native mouse I can normaly click with the red dot but both mice click with the same dot.. If anyone experienced this issue please help...

Thanks for posting up these notes.

I have been able to get the surface SDK to run as expected atop windows 7 but I am stuck at getting the MultiTouchVista solutions to do anything.

I can bring them up in vs2010 and make the changes as noted and compile them just fine. But I cannot confirm any multitouch events are getting caught by them.

Anyone have any ideas on what may be getting in the way etc?

I keep reading that you guys have achieved the ability to run the Surface Shell under Windows 7 and (I'm assuming) Windows 8 (Dev preview). I have tried and failed at this in both windows 7 and windows 8 (Release Preview). How do you accomplish this in Windows 7? I have tried installing the ATI drivers (thinking this was the issue) and I have tried using all combinations of compatibility mode with not success.
